El objetivo que persigue el presente volumen colectivo es articular las representaciones literarias de las minorías en la narrativa española de la Edad de Plata (1898-1936) a los desafíos políticos, intelectuales y estéticos de los tiempos modernos con el fin de identificar las prácticas de escritura recurrentes destinadas a plasmar los rasgos determinados de cada una de ellas. En él se analizan, por un lado, las minorías percibidas como individuos o grupos de individuos especialmente cualificados en el sentido que les atribuye Ortega y Gasset, por otro lado, las minorías como grupo numéricamente inferior en una posición no dominante en el concepto de Karla Pérez Portilla.

Literary Representations of Minorities in Spanish Narrative of the Silver Age (1898–1936)

Abstract
The objective of this collective volume is to articulate the literary representations of minorities in Spanish narrative of the Silver Age (1898–1936) with the political, intellectual, and aesthetic challenges of modern times, in order to identify the recurring writing practices aimed at portraying the specific traits of each of them. On the one hand, it analyzes minorities perceived as individuals or groups of individuals particularly qualified in the sense attributed to them by Ortega y Gasset; on the other hand, it examines minorities as numerically smaller groups in a non-dominant position, according to the concept of Karla Pérez Portilla.
